The first thing I noticed when I got the new Rimmel Shake It Fresh mascara was its weight. This bad boy is heavy. The package features this innovative shaker system, the tube feels like it has a ball in it that’s supposed to shake the formula and help keep it fresh, just like the first day you got it. I’ve been testing this mascara on and off for about a month now and I have to say the formula is just as wet as the first time I tried it.
The brush is pretty standard, featuring small bristles that do a wonderful job and combing out the lashes and depositing the just the right amount of product. I find this mascara to give me long, separated lashes and while it doesn’t give me a ton of volume it’s great for days when I want a very clean look if that makes sense. The formula feels very wet and stays that way for a quite a bit once applied allowing me to slowly build up more volume while brushing the lashes and fanning them out.
If you prefer a more subtle volume and like having long, well defined, clean lashes this mascara is definitely worth a try. It plays nice with other products too and I like to reach for this mascara to finish off any look I might have just to brush out the clumps and get that wide eyed look.
