Revlon Photoready Palette in Pop Art: Review and Swatch

This eyeshadow kit is part of the new Revlon Photoready Collection and the palette features a primer, three eyeshadows and a “sparkle top coat”.

The palette I have is 535 Pop Art and it features a primer-eyeshadow, three main colors (a green, a brown and a golden highlight) and a green sparkly shade.

I found the primer part the most unusual, as it’s in a powder form, it looks like an eyeshadow and most of the primers I have used so far have been creams or liquid consistency. I was very skeptical about it, I have crazy oily eyelids and no shadow lasts on more for more than an hour without creasing and most primers don;t even work on me. Imagine my surprise when after 6 hours my eyeshadow was intact after using the Revlon Photoready shadow-primer. The other colors are quite sheer and I had to pack them on to get even color. They leave a lot to be desired in the pigmentation department and I was disappointed to see they faded during the day considerably. Another thing I have to mention is that the colors themselves are not spectacular, and it can be hard to fit some brushes in the tiny slots in order to pick up product.
The kits are nicely coordinated, eyeshadows meant to be paired up together or worn on their own, which can be nice if you are not good at putting looks together. I liked Pop Art, green and brown complimented my hazel eyes nicely, I just wish the shadows were more pigmented and was hoping for better overall performance.
