Today I wanna share with you the newest collection set to hit drugstore shelves here in Canada, the QUO Fall Collection. The brand is exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart or Pharmaprix here in Quebec and the collection is available Mid-August 2015.
I’ve always admired QUO and the products they put out, especially the fun packaging. This collection is no exception. The packaging features this mesmerizing print; the material is all cardboard making the products feel light yet sturdy.
The Eye Shadow Palette ($18) features 12 shades of medium pigmentated shades and four cream liners and comes in two combinations: Keepin’ it Sweet and Romantic Aubergin. I have the former one. The eyeshadows are all soft to the touch and give off a nice wash of color. The color scheme is on the neutral side featuring a lot of soft pinks, beiges and browns. The four eyeliners are nested in the corners of the palette, the formula is not the most pigmented and I was quite disappointed with the way it performed when used as a liner. I ended up with marks all over my eyelid minutes into application so I decided to go ahead and turn it into an eyeshadow base given that I was in a hurry and had no time to take my eye make-up off. I ended up using a Clarins Ombre Matte in 07 Carbon shadow over the base and created a pretty edgy cat eye. The liners performed really well as a base, the only problem is that the palette offers no dark colors to set them with, which meant you’ll need to reach into your stash for extra products if you do intend on using these. Overall, I liked the shadows, the color scheme and the packaging but I am not a huge fan of the liners included as they don’t really perform well.
The collection also features two Face Palettes ($18) in Adorn and Escape. I have the latter this time. The palette makes great use of the space and features the same packaging as the eye palette. Inside you’ll find nested two generous pans of a blush and a bronzer along with a tiny strip in the middle the features a highlight. The formula is soft and medium in pigmentation, it’s a tad on the powdery side and blends well. It’s not a long lasting formula and it gives a whisper of color to the cheek while the highlight comes off pretty frosty with minimal shimmer. The highlight blends quite well and I bet it would look great once I go a tad paler, right now I particularly love using in the inner corner of the eye and under my brow bone.
Quo Brow Wow ($12) palette features three brows shades, a setting wax and a small brush. I love how the shades are so varied in color and tone. This makes for a great universal brow palette, blondes will particularly digg it.
This collection also features four Quo Chubby Lip Crayons ($10). The two colors I have are Sassy (soft raspberry) and Innocent (pinky nude). Both pencils have a lovely formula and medium pigmentation. They have a soft sweet smell and feel great on the lips. The finish is a mix in between matte and sheen and they wear well through the day.
There are also 6 polishes in the collection($10). I have Turn up the Volume and Blue Beat which I plan on swatching for the upcoming #MondayMani .
Finally, there’s the QUO Fall Brush Set ($50) which includes 6 brushes and a cute clutch.
