I think my passion for beauty and bodycare started in my childhood and I feel I picked up a lot of it from my mother. I remember her make-up vanity and her intriguing blue mascara, her perfume collection and the ritual she had for my sister and I’s Sunday night bath time when she would make us rinse our hair with a decoction of chamomile tea to help enhance our blonde hair. True story.
Klorane‘s new Blond Highlights line was a trip down memory lane for me, especially the chamomile shampoo,a staple in our household growing up in Europe. The new line features a conditioner and a Sun Lightening Spray which features a high concentration and chamomile and honey to help lighten hair naturally.
The shampoo is as gentle and lovely as I remember, it cleanses the hair beautifully without leaving it stripped, a true blessing for bleached tresses. The conditioner has a nourishing formula that leaves the hair soft and manageable, I like to leave it for at least 5 minutes in order to let it work its magic.
The star of the line-up is their Sun Lightening Spray with its natural formula that features chamomile extract and honey, both ingredients known for their hair lightening effects. What I find cool about this product is that it doesn’t have any hydrogen peroxide or ammonia which in my experience can damage the hair and turn it into a brassy mess. This spray works to help gently lighten the hair and it’s ideal for those with ashy, dirty blonde hues which is my case.
Klorane suggests using the spray two to three times a week, its formula being so gentle it can be used on children 3 years and up. The spray claims to leave hair soft and easy to detangle and enhance radiance with each use. Given how gentle the formula is it can take a few weeks to notice visible results so stay tuned to see my results with it down the line. Hopefully it can buy me a few weeks before a visit to the salon and help give my hair that sun kissed look I would get every summer. For now, I’m enjoying how soft my hair is left and I how much naturally bright it appears to be.
