Essie Bridal 2013 Collection Review and Swatches
Meet me at the Altar is a light lilac that goes on very sheer and looks almost milky on the first coat. The polish requires at least three coats to get it to be fully opaque and cover the nail nicely. It’s a soft pretty pastel colour. I can detect the fine micro-shimmer in the bottle but on the nail it’s incredibly subtle.
No Baggage Please is light pink, also sheer and can be streaky once applied. After a third coat I found I had built enough opacity to my liking. It’s such a girly and soft pink but you need to be patient with it and build it up. It does have tiny micro-shimmer, but it’s too subtle to be noticed.
Using My Maiden Name is a “blue hydrangea”, a very cool tones almost greyish lavender. The colour payoff is better with this one, two coats did the trick for me and didn’t really have issues with streaks or uneveness. This also has a hint of purple micro-shimmer which can add nice dimension to the overall look.
My Better Half is a peony pink, the boldest color in the set yet
the most boring in my opinion. I’ve worn this colour quite a bit and have grown to love it. The color is a good old pink, a no brainer for summer days. The opacity on this one is better than with the pastels and despite it having a hint of tiiiiiny shimmer, it’s really undetectable once applied on. Pretty color nevertheless.
